The EXplora Science Centre will provide Interactive Science exhibits and activities to engage children with ‘Real Science’, to demonstrate a principle or pose questions that encourage scientific language and process, particularly those that are challenging to provide in the classroom.

EXplora aims to:

1. Raise the profile and attainment in Science for Primary and Secondary children within Dorset.

2. Provide engaging interactive Science exhibits, activities and workshops for primary and secondary children in the area.

3. Generate a stimulating and exciting family orientated tourist attraction open to the general public.

In addition, it is envisaged that EXplora will support teachers and provide CPD and enthusiasm for Science by providing an easily accessible Centre for Science Excellence.

It is proposed this Education Charity would be based in Poole and set up to serve the community throughout Dorset with particular reference to social and educational disadvantage.
